All candidates for MSc. Programmes are expected to take the core courses as recommended. MSc. candidates are to take in addition at least four courses as electives. The electives are grouped below based on the area of research.
Master of Science (MSc) in Microbiology The admission requirement for MSc in Microbiology is a first or second class honors degree in Microbiology from Ahmadu Bello University or any other recognized University. All M.Sc students are required to take postgraduate courses.

Ph.D. candidate is deficient in the area of research, MSc. core and elective courses should be taken to improve the knowledge of the research area. The electives are grouped below based on the area of research.
Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Microbiology The admission requirement for PhD in Microbiology is MSc degree in Microbiology from Ahmadu Bello University or any other recognized University. The PhD programme is by research and course work where necessary.
